Nothing from tonight's claimed batch qualified. That result is itself the story, and there are two pipeline problems worth ten minutes tomorrow:
- **The triage queue is claiming three-month-old items, not last night's news.** `triage:claim` pulls oldest-first, and the unclaimed backlog now stands at **7,538 items** with the oldest dated 2026-06-22. All 40 items claimed tonight were Mistral blog posts from 2024–2025. Meanwhile the fetchers did their job: roughly 217 genuinely new items landed in the last 36 hours from lobsters, hn-top, vercel-changelog, openai-blog, reddit-saas, simon-willison and others — and none of them reached triage. Until the claim order is reversed (newest-first) or the backlog is drained/expired, the memo will keep reporting on last quarter.
- **The `mistral-blog` extractor is broken.** It inserted 73 "new" items whose stored body content is 7–9 characters long — literally just the index page's section label ("Company", "Product", "Research", "Solutions"). It is scraping the news listing, not the articles, and re-emitting the entire back catalogue as fresh. Worth either fixing the selector or disabling the source; as it stands it is pure queue noise.
